Le service Valorisation des déchets dans le réseau des services traités par ECOSYS

Au-delà de la notion du service considérée ici, le retour au sol de Produits Résiduaires Organiques (PRO) est en soit une pratique culturale qui va influencer les autres services considérés dans le projet d'unité. Ainsi les apports de PRO vont influencer :

  • L'activité biologique des sols, leur biodiversité structurelle et fonctionnelle ;
  • La qualité environnementale des agroécosystèmes et la fonction filtre des sols, puisque les PRO peuvent être sources de contaminants (polluants organiques et minéraux, GES, COV, poussières et particules), mais les apports de matières organiques peuvent aussi modifier les flux de contaminants présents dans les sols avec une atténuation potentielle de leurs effets ou une mobilité modifiée de ces contaminants;
  • Au travers des flux de majeurs, les apports de PRO contribuent à la fonction de production en se substituant aux engrais, mais le bilan environnemental des cycles du carbone et de l’azote permettra de vérifier que la substitution des engrais ne s'accompagne pas de flux de N réactif qui interféreraient avec le service de régulation du climat et de la production d’eau douce.
  • Enfin l'optimisation de la distribution des PRO dans un territoire est un excellent exemple de problématique nécessitant une évaluation intégrée au niveau d'un territoire.
