Les équipes de recherches, Instituts techniques, sélectionneurs ont besoin de caractériser l’effet de traitements, de comparer des génotypes, et de pouvoir accéder à partir de ces mesures à des variables élaborées et/ou intégrées au cours du temps. La méthode proposée permet une représentation dynamique 3D des peuplements obtenus au cours d’expérimentations au prix d’un effort expérimental minimal. La méthode fait l’objet d’un transfert contractualisé vers Arvalis et est mise en oeuvre dans divers projet (ECHAP, Breedwheat .. ). La méthode a été mise au point pour le blé. Elle s’appuie – outre l’analyse de la bibliographie - sur l’analyse des architectures d’un grand nombre de peuplements, représentant une gamme de génotypes commerciaux, dans une gamme large de conditions de croissance (principalement au champ : date et densité de semi, condition de fertilisation azotée). Ainsi des paramétrisations ont pu être mise au point, suffisamment génériques pour décrire l’ensemble de la plasticité observée en termes dechangements de valeurs de paramètres, et suffisamment économes pour qu’une description dynamique du peuplement au cours du temps puisse être simulée au prix d’un effort expérimental modéré : 3 à 5 dates de mesures pour couvrir l’ensemble du cycle.
