About us

Welcome to Economie Publique.

We are a research unit in economics applied to agriculture and the environment, which is jointly operated by INRAE and AgroParisTech, and part of the University of Paris- Saclay.

The unit brings together academics in economics from both INRAE and AgroParisTech, as well as engineers, and support and administrative staff. It is affiliated to EcoSocio, the economic and social sciences research division of INRAE and to the SESG department of AgroParisTech.

We are located on two sites, Grignon--west of Paris and Versailles--and Paris, which are part of the Versailles-Grignon INRAE Center.

The research carried out in the unit focuses on the links between the environment, agriculture, international trade in agricultural and agro-food products, and food, with particular focus on the economic analysis of public policies in these areas.

Our research work aims to produce high-quality, relevant, and useful for public policies research on these topics. The integration of our research with teaching at the graduate level is also of particular importance.

Our research thus contributes to the advancement of knowledge in the fields of environmental economics, agricultural economics, international economics and public economy. In particular, the unit is part of CLAND. This ANR-funded convergence institute brings together forces from many disciplines within the University of Paris-Saclay on issues related to land use and climate change.

The unit is a host laboratory for the master's degree in "Environmental, Energy and Transport Economics", EEET, with which several institutions are associated, in particular: the University of Paris Ouest Nanterre-La Défense , AgroParisTech, Ecole Polytechnique, MINES-ParisTech, Ecole des Ponts-ParisTech, Ecole Centrale de Paris, Ecole Nationale des Techniques Avancées (ENSTA-ParisTech). Economie Publique is affiliated to the ABIES doctoral school "Agro-food, Biology, Environment and Health".
